A guitar, a mic, and a loop pedal is all Theocles needs to sweep an audience off their feet. With soulful vocals backed by rhythmic arrangements and self-created harmonies, the one-man-band show is just as likely to get people dancing as move them to tears. His originals may be rooted in pop, but blends of every genre are on the table, from folk and funk to hip-hop and Motown.

Theocles has built his music around community, both in his hometown of Charlottesville and his new stomping ground of Richmond. His 2024 debut album “Roses” brings a live-from-the-bar-room folk feeling that features a number of the area’s top musicians, and featured on several local radio stations. The Spring of 2025 saw the release of his most successful song, “Fiddle Baby”, which was supported by both an acclaimed music video and the first Theocles tour. That same summer, Theocles followed up “Fiddle Baby” with the “X.O.S.” EP, a pop-fueled story about the difficult cycle of dating.

At the crux of all this is a simple cohesive message: music is beautiful, and Theocles loves nothing more than bringing that beauty into the world for anyone who will listen.
